In Memoriam: Florence M. Miller - 7/24/1920 to 7/16/2011

It is with great sadness that we report Florence M. Miller's passing at the age of 90.  As you may know, her work is currently on display at the FKCC Library Gallery and a video of her attending her show's opening reception is available here.

Miller, a long-time resident of Key West, had been an active member of the FKCC community.  She taught art classes, served on the Art Gallery board, and helped to arrange numerous art shows.  Her passion for art and eye for detail were always in high demand.

Please correct: My Mom was born on July 24, not July 26. She died on July 16, 2011, just a week shy if her 91st birthday.
Being her daughter and friend I know how precise she was.
She loved the college very much and I hope all the paintings get sold to benefit the college.

Florence, though, I haven't been thinking of you lately, your journey into the spirit world is in my heart. We laughed together on more than one occasion and your abilities were quietly stunning.
