“I like to encourage young artists and students who like to paint and draw,” said Miller, who began volunteering in the 1970’s to produce art shows in FKCC’s Library Gallery.
Miller’s art has been featured in museums, galleries, and art centers throughout the United States. She also created illustrations for books and publications, including Solares Hill.
Most pieces in the “Silver Jubilee” collection will be available for purchase, with the proceeds to benefit the college’s library.
FKCC’s Library Gallery hosts local and visiting artists and writers throughout the year as part of their ongoing efforts to provide culturally enriching, educational experiences for FKCC students, faculty, staff, and the Keys community at large. The show reception was very enjoyable. This was the best hung show that I have seen on exhibit in the library. What a great job. Florence is a very talented artist and a good friend.
Thank you for your comment! Florence Miller is an incredible artist. The show was a true team effort, but a lot of credit is due to Ms. Miller's caretaker, Laura. She helped to select, frame, arrange, and hang the works!
