We hope our "night owl" patrons will find the later hours convenient for doing homework, performing research, or just having a space to study.  We're working on a few events as well, which we'll announce once the plans are definite.

The later hours are on a trial basis for now and the usage will be evaluated after a few weeks.  Make sure you let us know that the later hours are important to you by coming in - numbers are important!

Our hours will remain the same for all other days.  Here they are for reference:

Monday - 8:30am to 9:00pm
Tuesday - 8:30am to 8:30pm
Wednesday - 10:00am to 10:00pm
Thursday - 8:30am to 8:30pm
Friday - 8:30am to 4:00pm
Saturday - 8:30am to 4:00pm
Sunday - closed

Google a Day

What resource do you turn to when you have a question?  For many people (including librarians) the answer is: Google.  The Internet has given us all the ability to enter a few keywords, press search, and instantly have several web pages available with potential answers.  Google recently came out with a new tool to help everyone hone their search skills: Google a Day.

The premise is simple: a question is posed (e.g. "An 11-foot bird lives less than two miles from 30.891383, -102.885032. What’s his name?"), you perform a search that you think will work, then submit your answer.  Google will then reveal the answer and their search strategy.  This allows you to learn the many ways of searching the Internet for answers, perhaps even new methods.  Google has even set-up a pre-question version of the Internet, Deja Google, to prevent current discussion of the question from appearing in the results.

You can see today's Google a Day question on the right-hand side.  Below is also the question for the day:
